Cadet Expectations
You're not just wearing the uniform - you're representing the Corps. Here's what's expected of every cadet:
  • Discipline: No gum, no phones without permission, no messing around.
  • Respect: Say "Yes, Sir / Yes Ma'am," no name-calling, no harassment.
  • Professionalism: No uniforms are half on, and no skipping inspection days.
  • Accountability: Do your homework. Show up. Follow through.
  • Leadership by Example: You don't need a rank to act like a leader.
Mandatory Events (2025-2026)
  • Saline County Fair Parade - September 2nd, 2025
  • Saline County Christmas Parade - December 1st, 2025
  • Martin Luther King Parade - January 19th, 2026
  • JROTC Military Ball ($20.00 per cadet who attends)
Note: The military ball only applies to full-year and second-semester cadets.

Tuition Coverage
Full financial assistance for college tuition and mandatory education fees
$420
Monthly Allowance
Tax-free subsistence allowance for up to 10 months a year

Annual Supplies
Annual allowance for textbooks, classroom supplies, and equipment
To be eligible to apply for the 4-Year scholarship, students must meet minimum criteria including a 2.5 GPA, be between 17-26 years old, and take the SAT/ACT (no minimum score required).
The Minuteman Campaign offers Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) scholarships to candidates who self-select for service in a Reserve component, providing full tuition and fees or room and board ($12,000 per year).

About Our Instructors
The Benton JROTC program is led by three experienced Army veterans:
  • LTC Farmer - Senior Army Instructor (20+ years, Field Artillery)
  • MSG Billingsley - Army Instructor (22+ years, Military Police)
  • 1SG Brashears - 2nd Army Instructor (24+ years, Infantry)
